28 BLACK ends partnership with Hansa Rostock

Luxembourg/Hamburg, August 07, 2024.

The company has ended its partnership with Hansa Rostock.

This step comes after thorough consideration and multiple warnings due to the considerable damage to the reputation of the company, the 28 BLACK brand and sport as a whole caused by the repeated fan riots and corresponding media coverage.

28 BLACK has always stood for values such as fairness, respect and responsibility, both on and off the pitch. Unfortunately, repeated incidents involving fans of the Hansa Rostock club have led to the partnership with the club having a negative impact on the perception of our company. We therefore felt compelled to take action in order to protect the integrity and positive image of our company and the 28 BLACK brand.

Due to the efforts of the club (including the former management) to counter the ongoing issue of “fan riots” and the resulting negative overall perception, we hoped for a successful solution until the very end. Unfortunately, the club's efforts were unsuccessful. Instead, the 2023/24 season showed that it was not possible to implement a targeted and sustainable concept. To our regret, the initially very good cooperation cannot be continued.

We would like to thank Hansa Rostock soccer club for the cooperation to date and wish the club all the best for the future. We hope that those now responsible and the fan community will take the necessary steps to ensure safety and fair cooperation, not only in the stadium.
